Mary Wright, Founder

Mary launched Design Wright Studios in Denver in 2001. With two children at home and another on the way, Mary built the company from a solo interior design business to a full-service residential and commercial design firm, complete with its own line of elegant furnishings. Now, after twenty years in the business, Mary is devoted to nurturing the young and independent interior designer.

Mary enjoyed a flourishing career in the fashion industry, as design director of both Prince Manufacturing, Inc. and Le Coq Sportif. While living in Boston in the 1990s, she discovered that her love of textiles was wonderfully suited to the business of residential interior design.

As the middle child from a large family, Mary is happiest when her home is filled with children, pets, relatives, and friends, both new and old. Her favorite quote, from Maya Angelou, sums up her experience, “I’ve learned that people will forget what you said, people will forget what you did, but people will never forget how you made them feel.”

Mary Pat Heath, Showroom & Trade Sales

“As a people person, I love helping families better their daily life, and playing a part in making home a safe haven for memories, both old and new,” says Mary Pat. This outlook has made her a favorite ally to homeowners as well as with high-end designers, world renowned manufacturers, and respected artists. Mary Pat’s deep knowledge of Denver’s design scene allows her to navigate the ups and downs of complex projects, all the while putting clients at ease.

Mary Pat grew up in eastern Kansas and Arizona. She began her career as a social worker in Chicago after earning a BA in sociology and psychology through The University of Michigan. In the early ‘80s, she moved to Denver and was quickly introduced to the design industry.

Mary Pat married her college sweetheart and is mother to two children and “GrandMary” to four. She loves the West. She enjoys family, fun friends, good food, fine wine, and a little dancing.
