CRUSH 2018

CRUSH is coming once again to our burgeoning neighborhood. Beginning on Labor Day (September 3rd) and running through September 9th, artists from all over the world will converge on RiNo and unleash their creativity on our urban landscape.

It’s hard to believe now, but our Showroom was still a few weeks away from opening when our northwest wall was adorned with a fabulous mural during last year’s CRUSH. We love this wall. “Nothing Without Courage” has given us direction and hope (and an unofficial motto) as we’ve ridden the roller coaster of our first year in our Walnut Street location.

Check out this short video. Our mural appears at 11 seconds in:

CRUSH stands for Creative Rituals Under Social Harmony, and the festival hopes to promote free expression and social inclusion. The artists are assigned different walls, or alleys, or buildings, for their canvasses. Many of the older murals will be painted over with something completely new.

For you, the viewer, it’s a free tour of the Wonderland that RiNo has become. Yes, the streets are under construction, and yes, the parking can sometimes make you crazy, and yes, there is tension between old and new denizens of this corner of Denver. But the creative fire burns bright here, and out of the ashes arise the most beautiful and magical creatures you can imagine.

All week long the artists will be working on their walls, so there is always something interesting to see. And come visit us at the Showroom! Rest a bit, refill your water bottles, get recommendations for food and drink, and tell us your favorite parts of the festival. We’d love to share CRUSH with you.
