When interior designer Grace Simmering was tasked with updating a family of five’s living room in Greenwood Village, she turned to Design Wright Studios.Looking to elevate the space while honoring the clients’ mix of art and antiques, Grace chose a range of custom seating options from our exclusive DWS Collection to create an inviting transitional look.
Here, Grace gives us an inside look at how it all came together:
1. “We chose the Yankee Spool Chairs to help define the separation between the family room and kitchen, and bridge the gap between old and new. I love the detail on the back; it complements the antique door above the mantle so nicely. For fabrics throughout, durability and stain resistance was key. They have teenagers and a dog, so the furniture takes a beating. These were upholstered in a check fabric with a faux-suede welt, both from Kravet.”
2. “The Jazz Swivel Chairs in front of the fireplace are my favorite chairs for comfort! They’re cozy and the low profile doesn’t block the view of the fireplace. Plus, the swivel makes it easy to view the television that’s on the wall opposite the sofa. For these chairs, we chose a faux mohair from Kravet that seems to magically repel dog hair and lint!”
3. “We had the Cube Ottoman custom sized to fit under their existing shagreen coffee table. It was an absolutely perfect fit and gives a durable place to put your feet up. We chose a warm brown leather to complement the built in and antique door.”
